Do I dare...

0comments
Do I dare...
... to ask those questions
... to stir up uncertainty
... to create a storm
... to muster up courage
... to fall in love...

Do I want...
... to be a part of your life, or
... to be alone and disparate, or
... to cherish and love, or
... to constantly wonder about what-ifs

Happy New Year

0comments
The year has gone
Happenings of good and bad
Entangled together

Intense thoughts
Novelty ideas
Never forgotten
Onwards and head on
Vanquishing doubt and uncertainty
Always determined
Total dedication
Immensity, devoid of space
Value in all things
Embedded in one's memories

Brandishing all negativity
AWAY you go..in a heart beat
Keeping in touch with reality
Encompassing all bravity
Reaching heights of yonder

Happy New Year peeps...

In a Flurry

0comments

In the sudden beauty that is you
I find myself a flutter,
Not knowing which way to turn towards
But consciously seeing the light
That appears strangely connected
To another spectrum of life

Awkward metaphors
Leaving a pleasant sensation in one’s mouth
Tingling at my vivid imagery
Of what may entail
And what is destined to come

Can there be such tales of enchantment
Or pure gestures of care and love
Exist in this world of ambiguity
To explode and implode
Simultaneously, without knowledge

My mind is set in a daze
I dream and wonder
Question and berate
Do I dare set foot,
In unexplainable territories
Do I retreat…
Into comfort, familiarity, commonness

Darn those cupid arrows
Dost thou make it such an arduous task?

Can there be simplicity
Or shall I have to avail in dealing with complexities
Seeking answers in far reaching places

Merry Christmas

0comments
Entertaining oneself with a good book
Reminiscing memories of old
Iridescent colors of sparkly baubles
Keeping in tradition

Entangled ribbons scattered on the floor
Kitschy gifts, jingle and jangle
Emulating that joyous moments
Not forgetting a tear or two
Gentle hugs, a scream and a laugh
Rushing of pitter patter, down those steps
Everything encapsulated
Never forgotten

Stir, Bake, Chomp

0comments
Switch on the oven,
Tick, tack and turn the dials,
Poof, swish, the oven fan goes
Heat up O' oven,
let's get hot enough to bake!

Measure, measure, measure
white clouds of flour in the air!!!
a ring around the bowl of powdered goodness
sizzle that butter on that stove

chop that chocolate!
melt it in the microwave
ding ding ding it sets off
mix, stir, combine

butter and flour those cookie cutters
stars, hearts, flowers, sticks
the production line begins
oven door opens, in goes the pan
15 minutes goes by
golden brown yumminess comes out!

decorating decorating
bah...so tedious!
chomp chomp chomp
whoops... where have they all gone??

Sounds

0comments
Vivaldi's Four Seasons,
plays in the background,
Evoking memories,
Tugging at heart strings

Sounds of yonder
Hankering behind one's mind
dramatising, empowering
stoically mindful

Emotional, transcending
Stillness, sense of emergency
heightened senses
playing at one's imagination

Disappearing into the notes
the violins and cellos
The mastery of the conductor's mind
Making you feel
Almost everything
Just not quite there yet

Anticipation, tribulation
Angst, solitude
Adoration, simplicity
Complication, duplicity
Extremity, Uncertainty

Tears

0comments
She sits and stares out the window
A freshly made cup of tea sits wafting in front her
she spaces out... not exactly there
thoughts run through like stills from an old projector

there's no oxygen,
she can't breath, she gasps and heaves,
she runs for the door
bursts out onto the open fields...
taking it whatever she could

A tear falls down her left cheek
the one single droplet
trailing down the contours of her face
staggering at the end
deciding to fall further or clutch on to her

they continue to flow now
her lower lip trembles
as she struggles to forget
those memories, those moments

but they haunt her
like they're playing in real life
right in front of her
as if they just happened

time of mourning, perhaps
time of reminiscing, not entirely sure
time to forget, erase, rewrite
but for now, tears, weeping

there's no way of knowing...

Anticipation

0comments
Looking left and right
Anticipating the arrival
Beads of sweat run down my forehead
Nervousness overpowers sensibility

Entirety seems forever
Awkwardness in full reality
There must be reassurance
somewhere
How did it go missing...

Damn the uneasiness
Squandering off with uncertainty
Reversing risk, implausible
Seeking completeness in unknown waters

be still, little heart, be still
Thou deserve more than just...
Stay true, little heart, stay true
Strength, adversity and determination
Will see you through

Daydream

0comments
I stare out the window
I look beyond the horizon
My mind is playing a thousand films
Like stills on a movie reel

I wonder what is out there
My memories of yonder
Eclectically mysterious
Yet beautifully unforgettable

Solace I seek
As my soul yearns for meaning
Daydreams of sweet reminisce
Quaintly tucked away, in a bliss

Silhouettes of the future
Faintly acting out its fate
So splendidly displayed
Like a sensuous cup of tea

I'm daydreaming...
...away
My escape into the imagine

A Caffe Latte...and a Ponder Away

0comments
Sitting in a cafe
Indulging in a Cafe Latte
Watching people come and go
All deep in their own worlds

The little group in the corner
Snickering and laughing
Enjoying each other's company
As though there were no worries in the world

The executive taps on his laptop
While talking on his blue tooth
Sounding seemingly important,
Yet unknowingly pretentious

The lovely old couple
Sitting hand in hand, intertwining their fingers
The lady's head rests dutifully on her husband's shoulder
Years of adoration and care
Never aged either, making them look
like the youngest couple in the room

A young family thrudges in
A set of parents and two toddlers in tow
Wanting to keep peace , but to no avail
One screaming baby and a mischevious kid
You could see the stress on the parents' faces
Yet the love for their children is undeniable

still sipping my caffe latte
continuing to ponder about my next step
contemplating life's adventures
That God has set before me

Making peace...

0comments
Can we ever see past the trials
Can we ever overcome the tribulations
Are we set to live life that others have mapped out
Not knowing whether we'd ever be more than just...

Can we unlearn what we've learnt?
Can we un-experience what we've gone through?
Do we want to be someone else in the meantime?
Just so we don't feel used...
Just so we don't feel hurt...
Just so we don't cry anymore...

But perhaps it is best to go through it...
To feel like life isn't as easy as it seems
To face it with your head screwed on...
maybe not so tight but a little loose ..
...and a bit tilted to the side...

Who knows what may come
In the next second, minute, hour or day
Do we smile, laugh, frown or sob
Do we whine, enjoy, rebel or just plain sulk
I wouldn't know...do you?

We mope about the bad things
As if the world revolves us little beings
When there is more to look forward to
Then just the simple problems we make them out to be

Being at peace with ourselves
is probably more important
than barking at the neighbour...
or the driver who doesn't seem to know what he's doing
Because if we don't love ourselves first
We can never properly love those around us
